BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Pollution Control Board Chairman, Bhoomanand Manay, on Thursday stressed the need to switch over to liquefied petroleum gas by industries for their energy requirements. Speaking at a workshop on "LPG conversion" for industries organised by the board and the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation here, Mr. Manay said LPG is more economical and environment-friendly than diesel, furnace coke and wood. The monitoring committee has emphasised the need for industries to change over to LPG.
