Back Shantilal Daga to represent ICAI in developing nations committee

THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that its central council member, Mr Shantilal Daga, has been appointed by the US-based International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to the Developing Nations Committee for a period of two years representing India on behalf of ICAI.

The IFAC is the worldwide organisation for accountancy profession.

In a press release, the ICAI said the IFAC, headquartered at New York, is represented by 160 professional bodies of 120 countries. Its mission is to serve the public interest and strengthen the worldwide accountancy profession. The objective of the Developing Nations Committee is to support the development of the accounting profession, particularly in developing nations by aiding their participation in the international standard setting process, the release said.
