Back Kovai flower show from Jan 27-29

THE Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and the Rotary Club of Coimbatore, Uptown are jointly organising the second edition of Kovai Flower Show 2006 at the Botanical Gardens between January 27 and 29.

Besides showcasing flowers from the country, the organisers plan to import flowers from Holland, Thailand and Malaysia.

Tulips and Lilliam on display could be the highlight of the event this year.

The organisers have planned competitions such as flower arrangements, painting and poem writing for students.

They also plan to give away prizes for the best garden, to corporates, individuals and institutions for landscaping, for best bonsai collections, vegetable carving, photography and stalls.

Over 70,000 people visited the show last year. The organisers expect this number to treble this year.
