People protest

Residents near Bellandur Outer Ring Road on Friday blocked traffic for nearly two hours demanding installation of traffic signal and implementing other traffic safety measures on that road.

They went on a protest following an injury to a motorcyclist whose vehicle was hit by a lorry on Friday. After shifting the injured person to a nearby hospital the people gathered on the road and blocked traffic.

Phone-in programme

Deputy Registrar of Apparel Training and Design Centre R. Balaji will take part in the phone-in programme that will be telecast by Doordarshan's Kannada channel on Saturday. The programme will be telecast between 8 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. Mr. Balaji will speak about job opportunities in readymade garment industries.

Bengali music

Levi's Rock Baji is presenting folk music by Bhoomi, and experimental Bengali modern songs by the versatile Lopamudra at the Ambedkar Bhavan here on Saturday.

Bhoomi and Lopamudra are popular and are known to cut across generation barriers with their music.
