CHENNAI: B.K. Shanthaji, Director, Brahma Kumaris of Tamil Nadu, South Kerala and Pondicherry branches, died in Ahmedabad on Friday. She was 53. According to a press release from the organisation, Shanthaji fell down from a staircase in Ahmedabad and suffered a brain haemorrhage. She died on the way to hospital. Her body was brought to Chennai on Saturday. The last rites will be performed on Sunday. Shanthaji was mentored by Dadi Hirdaya Pushpaji, a tapaswini and founding member of the Brahma Kumaris Global Organisation. She was one of those instrumental in starting and nurturing spiritual services in Tamil Nadu.
