Bidar: Terrorism and all other ills of modern society will vanish if everyone follows Buddhist principles of universal love, Meeratai Ambedkar, president of the Buddhist Society of India, said here on Saturday. Meeratai, daughter-in-law of B.R. Ambedkar, she was speaking at the valedictory function of a religious training camp in Bidar. She said that people of all faiths can practise Buddha's preaching. Buddhism is not a religion, but a set of rules. It is the first system, which stressed on hard work as a form of liberation. "What we need is a value-based religion and not one based on blind beliefs and unscientific practices. "Each one should look into himself for guidance and not outside. This is the gist of Buddha's Nirasakti Vada," said Ms Ambedkar. Ms. Ambedkar is touring 500 districts in the country organising such camps.
