Dazzling performance by students of Clarence Public School



WARM WISHES: (Left) Students of Oxford English School, Nagarabhavi, greet Bangalore Police Commissioner Ajai Kumar Singh on New Year's Eve. The School Day at Clarence Public School witnessed dance performances by senior and nursery students.

BANGALORE: Clarence Public School held its School Day celebrations recently. The Chief guest for the cultural day events was the former Director of Public Instruction Sampangi who gave away prizes to meritorious students. Students presented a colourful entertainment programme on the occasion. Senior students performed a fusion dance, while nursery students performed a dance to the theme "Unity in diversity".

Pincipal Nimmi George presented the school report. Awards were given to two students, Akil and Manasa who, who stood first in last year's ICSE examinations. Teachers who had completed ten years of service were felicitated. Director of Clarence Public School Kudroli presided.


Lalithakala Vaibhavam

Sri Jnanakshi Vidyaniketan, Rajarajeshwarinagar, conducted a two-day programme "Lalithakala Vaibhavam" recently.

Students who were trained in various extra-curricular activities performed at the event.

The English medium residential school conducts classes in music, dance, yoga, drawing, Vedic mathematics and Indian instrumentals. Sudarshan Ballal, Director, Manipal Institute of Nephrology and Urology; Sitaram. V. Chowti, chief physician, Mallya Hospital; and S.S. Sundar, chief nephrologist, Mallya Hospital; were the guests of honour. A fun fair and exhibition were held.

Annual day celebrations

Maya English School, Vijayapura, celebrated its annual day recently. The function began by observing a minute's silence to pay respect to the late founder-secretary B. Manikchand Jain.

Chief guest H.S. Ningappa, Principal, SJCIT College, Chikkaballapur, lauded the efforts of the school management in providing good infrastructure although it is located in a rural area.

He told the students to be proud of their country and its heritage. Block Education Officer N. Srikanta said the State Government has introduced programmes such as Pratibha Kaaranji, to bring out the talents of schoolchildren. Headmaster Narasimha Murthy read the school report.

Oxford School greets policemen for New Year

It was a unique way to start the New Year. On New Year's Eve, students of Oxford English School, Nagarabhavi, along with the founder-president M.C. Ravindranath, secretary B.R. Supreeth and principal H.N. Usha, wished policemen and officers for their services.

The message was conveyed through Ajai Kumar Singh, Bangalore Police Commissioner. Mr. Singh inaugurated the function held near Queen's statue.
