Back Rubber hardens on short supply Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Jan. 12 SPOT rubber prices moved up further, gaining strength from the bullish global indices. Domestic short supply gave further support to the sellers' sentiments, while covering groups and purchase agents turned comparatively more aggressive on sheet rubber. Major grades recorded moderate gains on fresh buying coupled with covering purchases at lower levels On the NMCE, March contract improved to Rs 75.34 (Rs 75.06) and April contract to Rs 76.59 (Rs 76.57 ). Spot prices a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 71.50 (Rs 70.75); RSS-5: Rs 69.75 (Rs 69.25); ungraded: Rs 68.00 (Rs 67.75); ISNR 20: Rs 69.25 (Rs 69.00); and latex 60%: Rs 50.50 (Rs 50.50).
