BANGALORE: Two motorcyclists were knocked down by a lorry on the Mysore Road flyover in the Central Traffic Police Station limits on Thursday. One of the victims was identified as Syed Moiuddin Ali (25), a resident of Padarayanapura. Ali and his friend were returning from a dargah in Chintamani at about 9 p.m. when they were knocked down by the lorry. While Ali, who was riding the two-wheeler, died on the spot, the pillion rider died on way to the hospital. However, the latter's identity was not yet established, the police said. The lorry driver abandoned his vehicle and escaped. The vehicle was confiscated. Traffic was affected for sometime on the 3.5-km flyover. The Central Traffic Police registered a case.
