Essilor acquires 50 p.c. stake in GKB Rx

CHENNAI: Essilor India, a fully owned subsidiary of Essilor International, the world's largest ophthalmic lens company, on Friday announced the acquisition of 50 per cent stake in GKB Rx Lens Pvt. Ltd., a leading ophthalmic lens processing laboratory and a wholesale company. The agreement includes an option to increase Essilor's stake in future. Essilor had earlier acquired three other leading prescription labs in the country.
