Back Seminars to promote online carbon trading

IN order to promote online carbon trading among India companies, Asia Carbon Exchange and New Values would conduct seminars in Mumbai (on January 17) and New Delhi (on January 18).

The seminars would be on the theme of "Global Online Carbon Trading: Managing Opportunities and Expectations for Indian CDM Projects", according to a release.

New Values operates a trading platform called Climex for spot and bilateral forward trading of carbon credits. Asian Carbon Exchange helps in price discovery of clean development mechanism (CDM) projects between buyers and sellers on the online exchange.

Given the high prices that Indian CDM project promoters are expecting for their projects, it will be one of our roles to conduct outreach events in India and China, said Mr Vinod Kesava, COO of Asia Carbon Exchange.
