HYDERABAD: The ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, Suleman Dawood School of Business at the Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, and the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, have been given global accreditation.

The Hyderabad-based, Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) has formulated the South Asian Quality Accreditation System (SAQAS) in 2003 with the support of the European Commission Asian Link Programme.

The SAQAS conferred on the three business schools would give a quality label to the institutions and their graduates will be recognised across the world, a press release from AMDISA said.

SAQAS is Asia's first global accreditation system. Two other global accreditation systems are the AACSB International in the US and EQUIS in Europe.

There are more than 1,500 business schools in South Asia of which 1,200 are in India.
