NEW DELHI: Europe-based industrialist Hinduja brothers on Wednesday claimed that the former Prime Minister, V.P. Singh, had attempted to extract a statement from them against Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors case. "They had only political angle concerning Gandhi family. They never say Bofors has anything to do with Hindujas. All the politicians know it has nothing to with Hindujas and their target was only the Gandhi family," Gopichand Hinduja told NDTV in its "Walk the Talk" programme to be telecast on Saturday. Asked whether they had ever met Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, he said they never did. PTI
