Hyderabad: All-India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi inspected the seating arrangement on the dais in the early hours of Sunday. After going through the four draft resolutions till late in the night, she drove to the venue at around 1.40 a.m. and got on to the dais to take stock of the position. A few hours later at the plenary, glowing tributes were paid to former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. The session hailed the contribution of Rao to the nation as an architect of the economic reforms and liberalisation and also to the party. It may be recalled that the party had faced flak for "ignoring" his contribution to the party and the nation when he breathed his last. Initially there was a faux pas as the list missed out on K.R. Narayanan, former President, which was corrected immediately.
