Hyderabad to have the first eight-lane Outer Ring Road soon

HYDERABAD : Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has said that his Government is according top priority to build infrastructure for inviting more industries to the State.

"We want to make Andhra Pradesh a leading state in terms of infrastructure development," Dr. Reddy said after laying the foundation stone for state-of-art global training and knowledge centre promoted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India near Nanakramguda in Ranga Reddy district on Tuesday.

Hyderabad would shortly have the first eight-lane Outer Ring Road covering a distance of 160 km to solve the traffic problems. Work on the provision of drinking water to the city through the Krishna drinking water scheme was going on a brisk pace and the Government was confident of completing it in nine months. The first Greenfield International airport in the country was coming up near Shamshabad, which was likely to be thrown open to air traffic in two years. He wanted the Chartered Accountants to hone their skills and tap the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) sector. Shantilal Daga, convenor of Centre of Excellence, said the proposed centre would come up on 2.80 acres land at a cost of around Rs. 12 crores. Once ready, the centre would offer cutting edge knowledge enhancement programmes for its members.

ICAI president Kamlesh S. Vikamsey said more such centres would be replicated in other parts of the country.
