CHENNAI: Congress leader M. Veerappa Moily, who is in-charge of party affairs for Tamil Nadu, is visiting Chennai on Wednesday for the first time after being given the assignment by the party high command. With the State unit plagued by groupism, Mr. Moily's foremost task would be to bring all groups together in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections. During his stay, Mr. Moily would be meeting senior party leaders, party MPs, MLAs and workers. Leaders of various "groups" are planning to give representations to Mr. Moily demanding right from the change of State leadership to major share for their respective groups in the appointment of party office-bearers. They would likely to show their strength in his presence to stake their claim for more seats in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
