P. Vasu
Back from the Formula racing circuit, Ajith should be happy with his latest release `Paramasivan.' Director P.Vasu is equally excited over the success of the movie. "For me it is a box office success. In city and other important centres we have sold it as minimum grantee (MG) price, which is one of the highest for Ajith's films. "Another measure for the film's popularity. The other day, the audience in Chennai's Kasi cinema demanded a repeat of the film's climax chase sequence. When their demand was not conceded, the audience blocked the screen. In Pondicherry, Ajith fans wanted the operator to show the climax scene for the second time. When he refused to do so, they burnt the screen... This is perhaps a rare occasion I saw in my career when people wanted a climax scene repeated ... normally in the olden days such a demand came only for popular song sequences."
51 prints sold
Vasu is also happy that a record 51 prints of "Paramasivan" were sold for the overseas market. "It was very easy filming the chase shots and action shots with Ajith as he is a great two-wheeler and four wheeler driver. "In fact, in a particular scene I ensured that Ajith's daredevilry as a driver was clearly seen by the audience." S.R. Ashok Kumar
