HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde has said that Andhra Pradesh will regain the pride of position of `Annapurna', the rice bowl of India, upon completion of the ambitious `Jalayagnam' programme, aimed at construction of 30 irrigation projects. He expressed satisfaction that `Jalayagnam' was being implemented with "unstinted commitment in spite of umpteen hurdles". He noted with satisfaction that one irrigation project - Janjhavathi - had already begun. Addressing the gathering after unfurling the tricolour at the ceremonial parade to mark the 57th Republic Day celebrations here on Thursday, Mr. Shinde said `Jalayagnam' was one of numerous initiatives taken by the Government to place agriculture at the centre-stage and make farmer happy.
