Chennai: Exnora and Cavinkare have come together to campaign for clean public toilets through a Sudham-Sugadharam-Sundaram (clean, hygienic and beautiful) programme. As a first step, local youth will be trained in maintaining toilets in their locality. These `toilet beautifiers', a term coined by Exnora, will in turn train regular cleaners and also educate users on hygiene. The company will maintain 100 public toilets for a month to set an example on good sanitation and hygiene. After a month of training, regular workers would take over. The next phase of the programme involves guidance in sanitation and hygiene practices for the residents of slums and for school students.
