CHENNAI: The Backward and Most Backward Welfare Department will hold a walk-in interview for BC/MBC/DNC students on February 8 (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. for three/six/12-month courses, including theory, practical and intensive training in the garment industry. Students must have qualified in 8/10/12 standard examination. The following courses are being offered: apparel manufacturing technology; production supervision/quality control course; pattern cutting master's course; measurement quality control and sewing machine operation, conducted by the Apparel Training and Design Centre. Qualifying candidates, whose family income is less than Rs. 50,000 a year may attend the interview at the ATDC office at Readymade Garment Complex, Industrial Estate, Guindy. Candidates should bring their original and a set of copies of mark sheets, transfer certificates, community certificate and income certificate besides two recent passport size photographs, and a self-addressed envelope with stamp of Rs. 5 on the cover.
