Dowry death suspected

A pregnant woman was pushed into a well allegedly by her husband and his family members in Konappana Agarahara on Saturday night. The police gave the name of the victim as Sunita (27). According to police Sunita married Ashok Reddy, a meat seller, two years ago. She was harassed to bring dowry allegedly by Reddy, his father Anand, and his mother.

On Saturday night, when Sunita refused to bring dowry, she was allegedly pushed into a well in which she drowned. Sunita's father, Krishna Reddy, has lodged a complaint with Hebbagodi police against Reddy, his father Anand, and his mother. The police have arrested Anand.

Reddy and his mother were reported to be missing, the police said.
