Back BHEL net up 78 pc in Q3 Our Bureau
New Delhi , Jan. 30 THE State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Monday reported a 78 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 423.2 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2005, compared to a net of Rs 237.4 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Total sales rose 43 per cent at Rs 3,614.6 crore ( Rs 2,529 crore). The company's consolidated net profit during first nine months period stood at Rs 811.2 crore (Rs 419.1 crore) registering a growth of over 93 per cent. Total income during April-December period of 2005 rose by 49 per cent to Rs 8,516.7 crore over Rs 5,719 crore in corresponding period of 2004, BHEL said. The BHEL stock, which opened the day at Rs 1,748 per share on the BSE, closed lower at Rs 1,701.
