Back Madras Cements Q3 net up at Rs 9.6 crore Our Bureau
Chennai , Jan. 30 MADRAS Cements' profit after tax for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 has jumped 3.4 times over that of the previous corresponding quarter, while the net sales increased by 51 per cent during the same period. For the nine months, the net profit was up 41 per cent and sales up 33 per cent over the same period last year. The board has declared a second interim dividend of Rs 5 a share (50 per cent). In the third quarter, it posted a net profit of Rs 9.59 crore on sales of Rs 242.65 crore compared with a net profit of Rs 2.79 crore on sales of Rs 160.76 crore. For the April-December 2005 period, the company's net profit was Rs 46.46 crore (Rs 33 crore) on sales of Rs 708.61 crore (Rs 531.84 crore).
