Back FAPI plea to banks

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Industries (FAPI) has urged the commercial banks to increase lending to the small and medium enterprises, as the SME sector is crucial for generating employment.

In a statement issued here, Mr. B.V Rama Rao, President, said the Central and the State Governments should exert pressure on the banks to enhance finance to the sector.

He blamed the sickness of many units on the non-cooperation of banks. He sought district-level co-ordination meetings of bankers, industrialists and Government officials to facilitate smooth credit flow.
