Back Sanjeev Aga to head COAI

THE Cellular Operators Association of India on Thursday elected Mr Sanjeev Aga, Director on the Board of Idea Cellular Ltd, as its Chairman for the next twelve months. Mr Aga took over from Mr Anil Nayar, who completed his tenure as Chairman of COAI on Thursday.

Mr Naresh Gupta, Chief Technical and Regulatory Officer, Hutchison Essar, was elected Vice Chairman of the apex body representing the interests of GSM based cellular operators in the country. At its Annual General Body Meeting held on Thursday, COAI also elected its new Executive Council team for 2006 which include Mr K.V.P. Baskar, Aircel; Mr Narender Gupta, Bharti; Mr D.B. Sehgal, BPL Mobile; Mr Naresh Gupta, Hutchison Essar; Mr Vikram Mehmi, Idea Cellular, Mr S.P. Shukla, Reliance Telecom and Mr Umang Das, Spice.
