Back Global M&A meet explores cross-border activity in India

HELPING India Inc Go Global — that was the theme of a recent meeting organised by IMAP (International Network of M&A Partners) in New Delhi.

The two-day meeting, which explored opportunities for cross-border M&A activity between India and the West, brought together Indian businesses and merger and acquisitions professionals from across the globe.

According to an official statement, Indian companies from the IT, electronics, automotive pharmaceutical, and consumer and industrial products sectors, including the Godrej Group, Ranbaxy Labs and United Phosphorous participated in the meet.

The statement quoting Mr Andy Moore, partner with UK IMAP member, Clearwater Corporate Finance Representatives said, "The quality of the management and the performance of the Indian companies is impressive. Many are experiencing rapid growth and achieving well in excess of 20 per cent net margins."

IMAP members have advised automotive group Amtek Auto in its acquisition of German machining company Zelter.

Mr Peter Church, Managing Director, IMAP member - Asean Focus Group, who helped organise the event in conjunction with IMAP candidate, Dua-AFG, said; "We have been following the Asian economies for a few decades now. India stands out in particular — it's a deal making country; is hungry to globalise; and follows accounting and business practices that are in line with international standards."
