HYDERABAD: Dr K. Radhakrishnan, Director of National Remote Sensing Agency, has called for efforts to update geography teachers on the latest developments in geo-informatics and spatial applications.

Delivering the keynote address after inaugurating the national seminar on `Geoinformatics and spatial applications' here on Friday, he spoke on the evolution of remote sensing and its applications.

Stating that images of very high resolution were being available by the sophisticated satellites India had developed over the years, he said it was very important that the academic community used and analysed the data.

"Availability of this information is the key. We have been offering this at concessional rates. This has to be improved further," he felt.
