Back Apollo Hospitals plans mobile service in rural areas

APOLLO Hospitals would soon launch a mobile service in rural areas to screen people for cardiac problems and cancer. Equipped with the necessary equipment, the vans would be fanned out from various sites of Apollo Hospitals that have cancer units attached to them.

These vans would have satellite connectivity that allows doctors on board to transmit the images to specialists at the units.

"This would help the attending personnel to locate the patient and initiate treatment procedure," Ms Sangita Reddy, Executive Director of Apollo Hospitals (Hyderabad), said.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday , she said the service would be launched in two months time.
