HYDERABAD: Satyam Computer Services Ltd. on Friday got the Traffic Offence Free Entity (TOFFEE) certification from Hyderabad traffic police by complying with 78 per cent of traffic rules.

With this, every Satyam associate became `traffic rules compliant model citizen', a press release said. An associate becomes traffic rule compliant after submitting copies of the driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, pollution under control certificate and valid insurance certificate.

Every associate also submitted a filled `Safety Health and Environment Interventions LeverageD' (SHIELD) form. In association with traffic and transport departments, weeklong special counters were opened for the associates who did not have any of the certificates. Thus, it was ensured that every associate of the company had all documents conforming to the prescribed standards.

The TOFFEE certification concept was introduced by Additional Commissioner of Police (Co-ordination) Tejdeep Kaur Menon when she worked with city traffic wing. "The idea is to spread awareness among all our associates about road safety and traffic rules compliance," said the company senior vice-president A.S. Murthy.
