Five commit suicide in different incidents

BANGALORE: Five persons committed suicide in different incidents in the city on Friday.

Prasanna Kumar (25) of Jayanagar was found dead on the railway track near Platform No. 10 at the city railway station.

The police said Kumar committed suicide by jumping in front of a train.

Ravi (23), a vegetable vendor, also ended his life in a similar fashion.

His body was found near Kengeri railway bridge.

Manjunath (25), a labourer, died after he hanged himself at his house at Doddabyladahalli in Soladevanahalli police station limits.

Manjunath ended his life when his mother was not at home, the police said.

Amuda (34) and Ashok (28) were found hanging at a house in Ejipura.

According to the police Amuda and her husband Ramu, a television repairer, were living in a rented house.

After breakfast, Ramu went to his shop. When he returned home in the evening he found the house locked from inside.

When he managed to open the door, Ramu found his wife and Ashok, the owner of the house, hanging.

The Vivek Nagar police have registered a case of suicide.

Burglary

The house of a retired junior engineer of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) was burgled and cash and gold ornaments were looted in Rajajinagar 2nd Block.

According to the police, Eshwarappa, had locked his house and gone to Challakere.

He noticed the burglary when he returned on Friday.

The Rajajinagar police are investigating.

Gold chain snatched

Two motorcycle-borne men snatched the gold chain of Mala in Yelahanka New Town police station limits on Friday.

The gold chain was worth Rs. 15,000.
