New Delhi: Helping students contribute their mite towards saving the national animal, `Kids for Tigers' -- Sanctuary magazine's environmental educational school programme in association with Heinz Complan -- held an inter-school Tiger Fest for the students of Delhi at Shri Ram School, Vasant Vihar, this past week.

Attempting to create a platform for students to air their views on saving the tiger as well as contribute towards nature conservation, the event saw participation of 30 schools.

"The tiger is much more than our national animal, it represents our future hope for natural India and the fate of this animal is completely tied with that of our children. This fest is an attempt to get together India's future leaders to help the tiger," said the editor of Sanctuary Magazine, Bittu Sahgal.

The tiger fest is an important part of the `Kids for Tigers' programme and is aimed at giving students from different participating schools a chance to interact with each other on the issues of environment and wildlife.
