Bangalore: Cauvery School, Indiranagar, organised a competition for its budding dress designers recently. Sixteen designers from each house accompanied by their models took part in the competition titled "Cauvery Creations 2006." Though it was a maiden attempt by the student-designers, it showed a touch of perfection, imagination and creative thinking. The models flaunted the beautiful dresses embellished with sequins, laces, mirrors, flowers and stones. Huma Nusrat and Nagalakshmi were chosen winners of the contest.
Sports meet
Windermere School, Magadi Road, organised its annual sports meet recently. The event began with a march past by students. They presented drills and displayed their skill in forming pyramids. Students of nursery section presented "sunflower drill." Children participated with zeal in many athletic events. Sack race, lemon race and frog race were conducted for children of junior classes. M. Nagaraj and S.N. Shankara Murthy, general secretary, Karnataka State Primary School Teachers Association, Bangalore South District, were chief guests. Mr. Shankara Murthy said sports activities will help in developing the personality of an individual.
Quiz on Republic Day
The programme began with a speech by Nikhil Vinod. Students conducted a quiz based on Republic Day and presented a dance to the lilting tunes of A.R. Rehman's "Vande Mataram." The tableau at the end brought to light the significance of unity in diversity.
