In the comic line

The makers of `Nagareega Komaali' are a confident group. They are very sure that the film will go down well with the audience. The progeny of popular yesteryear comedians come together for the venture — Surulirajan's grandson Jayashakti is the hero, while N.S. Krishnan's grandson, NSK. Rajan plays a significant role as a tea vendor. `Nagareega Komaali' that is due for release soon, has Kannada actor Neetasri as heroine. Ramji S. Balan helms the project with his story, screenplay, dialogue, music and direction.

`Uyir' in Ooty


The shooting of `Uyir' is in progress in Ooty, where most of the scenes are being shot. Composer Joshua Sridhar who created some scintillating melodies for `Kadhal' has repeated the magic for `Uyir,' assures a unit member. Parthiban's assistant Saami wields the baton for the first time for the film in which Srikanth and Samruksha are the lead players. Seventy per cent of the shooting of `Uyir' is over and the film is slated for an April release.

Rehman as dada


After `Ram,' Rehman returns as Lingam, the local dada in `Thoothukkudi.' It is said to be a pivotal role and going by the stills Rehman does look menacing. The entire film is being shot at Tuticorin and will be completed by March 5. Harikumar, the dance master of over 100 films is `Thoothukkudi's hero. He also takes care of the choreography. Karthika is the heroine of `Thoothukkudi,' written and directed by Sanjayram.

Madhu's music


Ilaiyaraja's compositions will be a highlight of `Madhu' conceived, treated and directed by Thennarasu, you are told. Director Thennarasu makes his debut with the film. Another impressive technician in the team is film editor B. Lenin. Pitted against hero `Jiththan' Ramesh is Priya Mani, who plays a devout young student. Ashish Vidyarti is the villain of `Madhu.'
