Poor response to recruitment of doctors

HYDERABAD: There was a poor response to the notification issued by the State Government for recruitment of 250 gynaecologists in spite of higher salaries, the Minister for Finance, Medical and Health, K. Rosaiah, told the Assembly on Thursday.

Replying to a question in the House, Mr. Rosaiah said the Government had offered an additional Rs. 10,000 to the regular basic pay of Rs. 13,000 but the candidates were not forthcoming. The Minister said the Government was examining outsourcing jobs of Class-IV employees to PHCs. The vacancies of posts in PHCs had touched 338.
