IN order to attract investments in the State, the West Bengal Government is offering incentives schemes, which include subsidies on capital investment and interest payments and waiver of duties and fees, the West Bengal Minister for Information Technology, Mr Manabendra Mukherjee, said on Friday.

Addressing a conference on `Strategising Investments: Advantage West Bengal', organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham), Mr Mukherjee said, "Today, Kolkata and some of other developed townships have the presence of 233 IT and ITeS companies and the State Government would like that their present strength grow manifold." Keeping this in view, he said the Government has guaranteed all women workers round-the-clock safety.
