HYDERABAD: Eleven TRS members were suspended from the Assembly for two days on Friday when they staged a sit-in near the podium demanding stoppage of Polavaram project and protecting the interests of tribals.

The suspended members were taken out by marshals as they did not respond to pleas by Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy to leave the House. The marshals had to carry a couple of reluctant MLAs by their shoulders while the latter shouted anti-Polavaram slogans. Trouble began soon after the House met in the morning when TRS members were up on their feet insisting on admission of an adjournment motion served by their leader G. Vijayarama Rao on Polavaram.

The TRS members rushed to the podium, demanding stoppage of Polavarm work. After bid to restore normalcy, the Speaker adjourned the House. When it re-assembled, the TRS members renewed their slogan-shouting.

Those suspended were A. Chandrasekhar, K. Eswar, A. Govinda Naik, K. Nagesh, P. Narasimha Rao, M. Padma Devender Reddy, T. Harish Rao, M. Padma Rao, K. Ramalinga Reddy, P. Satyanarayana Rao and G. Vijayarama Rao.
