450 students took part in career planning programme

CHENNAI: `Spotlight 2006', a career planning conclave targeting the student community, particularly the students of Class IX to XII, received an overwhelming participation from students, educationists and industry professionals.

Over 450 students from nine prominent schools of the city, including SBOA, Anna Nagar, DAV Public School, PSBB Group of Schools, Springfield, St. Johns, Asan Memorial and Sivaswami Kalalaya, participated in the event hosted by Chennai-based Careersindia.

The programme offered an interesting mix of events.

This is the third edition of Spotlight 2006 which brings together students, educationists and industry professionals to discuss and deliberate on the rapidly changing trends in career planning. The primary aim is to enable the student community to gain insights into the requirements of the industry and make informed choice of their careers.

Several prominent corporates, including Pepsi, Reliance Web World, Lotte, NIIT and Hatsun Agro, supported the event.

A Career Quiz was also held with the posers revolving around career opportunities.
