Nestle India bags three export awards

Forty-two `Flavour of India-The Fine Cup' awards presented

BANGALORE: Nestle India Limited of Gurgaon and Allanasons Limited of Mumbai have three export awards each for their performance during 2004-05. Forty-two "Flavour of India-The Fine Cup" awards were given to different coffee estates in the country.

The awards were presented by Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh at a function here on Sunday.

Nestle India won export awards under Instant Coffee, Russia and CIS and Far East categories. Allanasons won the awards under green coffee, European Union, and Middle East categories. Aspinwall and Company Limited of Mangalore and Chimco International Private Limited of Kushalnagar were awarded under Speciality Coffee and USA categories respectively.

The following are the list of "Flavour of India - The Fine Cup" awards:

Fine Cup Awards: Plenty Valley Estate of Annamalai Region as producer of India's finest Arabica Coffee; Kelagur Coffee and Tea Estates of Manjarabad region as producer of India's finest Robusta Coffee; Palthope Estate of Coorg Region as producer of India's finest Speciality Coffee.

Best Coffees in speciality category: Merthikhan Estate of Coorg Region as producer of best Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold Coffee; Aspinwall of Mangalore as producer of best Monsooned Coffee, and Seetharagundu Estate of Travancore Region as producer of best organic coffee.

Special prize winners: Devaracadoo Estate of Coorg Region; Badnekhan Estate, Chenekal Estate, M.S. Estate, and Kogrie Estate, all from Chikmagalur region.

Best Coffee from Growth regions: Yelnoorkhan Estate of Bababudan Giris region; M.S. Estate of Chikmagalur region; J.K. Estate of Sheveroys Region; Jumboor Estate of Coorg Region; Pedabayalu Estate of Araku Valley Region; Kelagur Coffee and Tea Estates of Manjarabad region; Devon Estate of Chikmagalur region; and Choudikadu Estate of Coorg region.

Twenty-two estates were given certificates of merit.
