MUMBAI: A show-cause notice was issued on February 16 to the Pune-based Venkateshwara Hatcheries, which supplies layers and eggs to poultry farms in the Navapur region that reported bird flu incidence. Nandurbar Collector Jayant Gaikwad told The Hindu on Tuesday that it was the job of the company to monitor the health of chicken supplied to hatcheries. Kalpana Sharma reports: The Venkateshwara Hatcheries has, however, denied having received any notice. In a release, the company said the poultry farms at Navapur were not its franchisees. It was not the only supplier and there were others supplying chicks and poultry feed at Navapur.
