CHENNAI: Four lorries carrying eggs and poultry feed from Maharashtra were stopped by personnel of the Animal Husbandry Department at Kavarapettai and Hosur checkpoints and sent back on Wednesday night, a press release here said on Thursday. Surveillance has been intensified in wholesale poultry markets, and veterinarians are conducting daily checks on birds, T.N. Palanivelu, Director, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, said. No symptom of the bird flu has been found, the release added.
