THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Union of Anglo-Indian Associations on Monday alleged that the State Government was adopting a negligent attitude towards Anglo-Indians, owing to which the financially backward members of the community were not able to gain admission to professional colleges or obtain Government jobs. Briefing presspersons here, association vice-president Charles Diaz said the Government should take steps to provide adequate seat reservations in the higher education sector for the Anglo-Indian community. The Government had failed to keep its promise of increasing the seat quota for Anglo-Indians and upgrading Anglo-Indian schools following a 10-fold increase in the number of seats in professional colleges.
