Back Rice processing

Rice processing companies, such as Satnam Overseas, Lakshmi Overseas and KRBL may benefit from "priority sector" status to the food processing industry. NABARD is also to create a Rs 1,000 crore window for providing refinance to infrastructure and market development initiatives by the food processing sector. These companies, which are engaged in processing and export of plain and basmati rice, have recently been expanding capacities in order to diversify into new international markets. The business is working capital intensive, as well.
