Labourer held on murder charge

HYDERABAD: The Kalapather police on Thursday arrested a labourer Abdul Jabbar, 24, in connection with the murder of a scrap godown watchman Syed Osman. The 70-year-old guard was found murdered at the godown in Madina Colony, Tadbun, four days ago.

The killer took away scrapincluding radiators, gas cutter and an auto-rickshaw from the godown premises. "Initially, there were no clues but inquiries with locals revealed that a short man in his mid-20s was seen taking away the three-wheeler that night," Kalapather Inspector Mohd. Sadiq said.

Stitching up vague leads, police zeroed in on Jabbar. When grilled, the labourer confessed to having killed the watchman. The stolen scrap, including the auto-rickshaw, was recovered from his possession.
