CHENNAI: A two-day workshop on `Grid Computing - Technology and Applications' is being organised by the Computer Society of India Div VIII and its Vellore Chapter at the Vellore Institute of Technology on March 11 and 12.
A major goal of grid computing is to provide efficient access to data. The research area of grid computing is making rapid progress, owing to the increasing necessity of computation in the resolution of complex applications. The challenge of grid computing is the complete integration of heterogeneous computing systems and data resources with the aim of providing a global computing space. Resource persons for the meet will be academicians, researchers and industry experts from IIT-M, C-DAC, RedHat, IBM, and Oracle. This workshop is intended for researchers and practitioners in grid computing, and specifically to those who use grid environments to create and manage virtual organisations.
