Chiranjeevi emerges champion

HYDERABAD: V. Chiranjeevi of Andhra Pradesh defeated P. Kesava Perumal of Tamil Nadu 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the 65 years & above singles of the RR Movie Makers AITA veterans national tennis tournament organised by Surya Tennis Foundation here.

The results: All finals (players from AP unless mentioned): 45 years & above: M. Ramesh bt Srinivasa Rao 4-6, 2-0 (conceded). Doubles: K.R. Raman & V. Shankar bt G. Krishnam Raju & K. Mehar Prakash 7-6(2), 6-3. 55 years & above: V. Rama Mohana Rao bt M. Yadgiri Rao 6-3, 6-3.

Doubles: P.V. Rao & Karunakar bt T.A.P.N. Rao & Radhakrishna Murthy 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. 65 years & above: V. Chiranjeevi bt P. Kesava Perumal (TN) 6-3, 6-3. Doubles: R. Ananda & A. Chengappa bt Murhu Kumara Swamy & P. Kesava Perumal (TN).

Prasad slams ton

Century by Ravi Prasad (111 not out) helped DRDL scored a 26-run win against DRR in the Satish Dhawan Space Cup cricket tournament for Central Government scientific organisations here.

The scores: NRSA 120 for eight in 20 overs bt NGRI 107 in 18.4 overs (Pradeep Kumar four for 18; Nagaraja Rama Rao four for 17).

SOI 118 for five (Jagdeeshwar 44) lost to GSI 120 for four.

DRR 154 for seven (Ashok Reddy 54) lost to NIN 155 for one (Prasad 51 not out, Satya 40 not out).

DRDL 180 for 3 (Ravi Prasad 111 not out) bt DRR 154 (Md. Tahseen 102).
