Back USTDA meet to focus on transportation solutions

Mumbai , March 6

The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is organising a two-day conference to focus on the expansion of transportation and trade facilities in South Asia from March 7 in Mumbai. The conference will feature the near-term public and private infrastructure development plans in the region valued at about $7 billion.

Ms Leocadia I. Zak, Deputy Director of USTDA; Mr Jeffrey Shane, Under Secretary for Policy of the US Department of Transportation; and Mr Michael S. Owen, US Consul General in Mumbai, will be among the speakers at the conference.

The conference is being organised in co-operation with the US Departments of Transportation, State, Commerce, and Homeland Security. Officials from the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Asian Development Bank will also participate in the event to discuss the finance and insurance programmes available for projects in the region. A focus area of the conference will be transportation solutions for South Asia trade.
