BANGALORE: Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) P. Muniswamy on Monday suspended three policemen attached to the R.T. Nagar, Hebbal and Sanjaynagar police stations for not registering complaints. Narasimha Murthy, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in the R.T. Nagar police station, was suspended for not registering a complaint by Hemanna regarding theft of his moped. According to a press release, when Hemanna went to the station on Saturday, Mr. Murthy, who was the station house officer, refused to register a complaint and instead told him to come on Sunday. Head constable K.S. Mallikarjun, attached to the Hebbal police station, has been suspended for not registering a complaint by Puttu that the cash in his pocket was picked while he was travelling by a BMTC bus on Saturday. Citing jurisdictional reason, Mallikarjun had refused to register the case and asked Puttu to go to Sanjaynagar police station and file a complaint. Similar action has been initiated against Babu, an ASI at the Sanjaynagar police station, for not registering a complaint by Chandrahas that his mobile phone was stolen. Without enquiring into the details of the case, Babu, who was the station house officer, had sent back Chandrahas asking him to produce the purchase bill of the mobile phone, the release said.
