BANGALORE: These young women proved on International Women's Day that they were as daring and with enough physical courage to match any man. As many as three of them volunteered to lie on tiers of nail boards with a 30 kg stone slab placed on the torso of the topmost woman. Suresh Kenchira, a Karate Black Belt and general secretary of Karnataka Sports Karate Association, then proceeded to break the slab with a blow by a hammer. This was part of the free self-defence camps for women organised by the association so that they have enough self-confidence to deal with any threatening situation.
