Placement process begins at IIMB

187 students are vying for jobs in top firms in India and abroad

Bangalore: The placement process began at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, on Friday and 187 students are vying for jobs in top firms in the country and abroad.

However, officials of the placement cell are tight-lipped about the number of companies that are participating this year.

"A clear picture of the total number of companies, the number of offers made and accepted will emerge only on Saturday," said a faculty of IIMB.

According to sources, as many as 125 students had registered for placements early on Friday. Over 50 offers had already been made by companies participating in Day Zero of the two-day recruitment exercise.

The first round concludes at noon on Saturday. Last year, 78 companies made 328 offers to 190 students.

The highest Indian salary was Rs. 16 lakhs a year and the median salary was Rs. 8.75 lakhs.
