Letters to the Editor
The incisive editorial, "An opportunity for cable reform" (March 15), is timely. It is another wake-up call to the authorities. As rightly pointed out, the growth of the industry has been rather amorphous. Enjoying monopoly in their self-assigned areas, cable television operators have become a law unto themselves. Reining them in is an urgent need, as there is no grievance redress mechanism at present.
K.D. Viswanaathan,
* * * One expects better quality of service in the private sector due to competition but cable operators have proved the expectation wrong by their monopolistic collusion.
